The artist Joseph J. Sherman and Mr. Boruch Rizel from The Holocaust Art Institute visited the Embassy on October 27th and donated a painting by Mr. Sherman, as a sign of gratitude for the courage of Righteous Serbs who were helping members of the Jewish community during the Second World War. Mr. J. Sherman is a painter of Jewish origin, a member of the ultra-orthodox Jewish community, who grew up in the United States where he completed his studies in marketing.

Amb. M. Stanojevic expressed the gratitude for this gesture and recalled the long tradition of friendly relations between the Serbian and Jewish people, particularly emphasizing solidarity in difficult period for both of the nations during the World War II. He expressed the belief that two people in the future, just as throughout the history, will continue to develop close friendly relations.
